Join the Media & Environment Club to champion sustainability through school-wide programmes, recycling drives, and learning journeys that inspire real change.
Introduction
The Media and Environment Club is in line with the school’s Applied Learning Programme (ALP) with the focus on Environmental Sustainability.
We aim to nurture an appreciation for the environment and develop social responsibility towards the environment among our students.
Our CCA members are the ambassadors who lead their school mates towards a more sustainable future by caring for our environment. This will be achieved through the main thrusts:
Conducting school-wide programmes to raise awareness on environment issues.
Promoting the recycling culture among students.
Working and collaborating with stakeholders on environment programmes.

Earth Day 2026 - Our Power Our Planet
In celebration of Earth Day 2026, themed “Our Power, Our Planet,” students took part in engaging recess activities facilitated by the school Eco Champs to learn how they can care for the environment.
Through hands-on experiences, students explored the importance of recycling and how their daily actions can make a difference. A key activity was a recycling sorting game, where students identified items meant for the blue recycling bin and learned what can and cannot be recycled.

Students also completed interactive puzzles that revealed messages on reducing waste, reusing materials, and recycling right, deepening their environmental awareness in a fun and meaningful way.

Through these activities, students were taught self-discipline in following correct recycling steps and empathy in understanding how proper recycling helps protect the environment for others and future generations.

Earth Day reminds us that each of us has the power to care for our planet, and together, we can create a greener future through small but meaningful actions such as recycling correctly, reducing waste, and reusing materials.
World Water Day 2026 - Make Every Drop Count
In celebration of World Water Day, our school organised a meaningful and engaging programme centred on the theme, “Make Every Drop Count.” The aim was to raise students’ awareness of the importance of water conservation and to help them understand that water is a precious and limited resource.
The event began with an informative talk that highlighted the global challenges of water scarcity. Students learned that in many parts of the world, people do not have easy access to clean water and may need to spend hours collecting it for daily use. This helped students reflect on how easily water is often taken for granted in our daily lives.
To deepen their understanding, students participated in a water rationing exercise conducted during all three recess sessions. During the activity, only a limited amount of water was provided for handwashing. Students experienced firsthand how to use water sparingly while still maintaining proper hygiene.
Our school’s Eco Champs played an important role in guiding their peers throughout the exercise. They demonstrated how to use minimal water effectively and reminded others to be mindful of their usage. Their leadership helped make the activity smooth and meaningful for all.
Through this hands-on experience, students gained a deeper appreciation of water as a valuable resource. The activity reinforced the message that small actions, such as turning off taps and using only what is needed, can make a big difference.
The World Water Day programme served as a powerful reminder to all students: every drop truly counts. By developing good habits now, we can all play a part in conserving water for the future.
CDL EcoTrain Learning Journey
In November 2025, our Environment Club members went on an exciting learning journey to the City Developments Limited (CDL) EcoTrain. We embarked on a fun and interactive digital journey to learn more about Singapore’s lush forests, diverse wildlife, and conservation efforts.
Through engaging displays and hands-on exhibits, students discovered how nature and sustainability are connected to our daily lives. At the end of the visit, students also wrote down their personal commitments to protect and save the environment, showing their promise to care for our planet through everyday actions.
Co+Nut+Ink Learning Journey
In May 2025, our Environmental Club members had an enriching learning journey to Co+Nut+Ink on May, where they discovered how the company contributes to sustainability and environmental stewardship. The visit offered students a firsthand look at eco-friendly business practices, including waste reduction and upcycling efforts.
A highlight of the trip was the hands-on activity where students upcycled coconut husks—turning them into beautifully decorated planters for new seedlings. This meaningful experience deepened their understanding of sustainable living and inspired them to take small but impactful actions for the environment.
